Wesley Sleep Services
A sleep study is a non-invasive test that monitors some of your body’s physiological processes while you’re sleeping. A sleep study is ordered to help your doctor diagnose a range of different sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnoea, central sleep apnoea and/or periodic leg movement disorder. The data collected during the study provides your doctor with information regarding the type and severity of any sleep disorder identified during the study.
Wesley Sleep Services provides a service to patients with proven or suspected obstructive sleep apnoea, excessive daytime sleepiness of uncertain cause and other sleep disorders such as narcolepsy and periodic leg movement disorder.
Our clinic is also able to provide assistance with organising:
- Bulk billed sleep studies
- Multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT)
- CPAP/BiPAP/ ASV titration studies
- Education, compliance monitoring and on-going care
- Equipment sales and mask fitting
ESS and STOPBANG – Medicare requirements
As per Medicare (as of 1 March 2021), the Epworth Sleepiness and STOP BANG Questionnaire must be completed prior to a sleep study. In order to be eligible for a Medicare subsidised sleep study, a patient must score 8/24 for the Epworth Sleepiness Questionnaire and 3/8 for the STOP BANG Questionnaire. Our referral form includes both the Epworth Sleepiness and STOP BANG Questionnaires that need to be completed as part of the referral process.
